Editionnotes: With a facing titlepage in English, which reads: The shepherd’s calendar : containing twelve aeglogues proportionable to the twelve months / by Edmund Spenser, prince of English poets ; entituled to the noble and virtuous gentleman, most worthy of all titles, both of learning and chivalrie, master Philip Sidney. -- London : Published by John Ball ; printed by Will. Bowyer, in the year MDCCXXXII. Engravings, consisting of one illustration for each month and a fronsipiece portrait of Spenser, signed: P. Fourdrinier, sculp. Signatures: A⁸ a1 B-Q⁸ R⁶(-R6). Bowyer’s records show 700 copies printed on demy, 60 on royal, and 4 on writing royal (ESTC). Errata on a1r, with verso headed "To his book." Latin and English on facing pages.
